What’s your breakfast ?

I am not kind of person who like to put time in preparing my breakfast,I usually have a very simple one.A lot of time I don’t have breakfast, but when I have time I’d like to have a very nice one.

It’s been hot lately though it’s already fall season. I like something light and easy to digest. I made this salad 3 days in a row, takes less than 10 minutes to prepare it.

Here what I made, Salmon Salad

  • 1 head of romaine lettuce, chopped roughly
  • 1 gala apple, cut into small cubes
  • 4 white mushroom, diced
  • Smoked salmon
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp of honey
  • black pepper to taste
  • salt to taste

Direction :

  1. Put lettuce, apple, mushroom and smoked salmon in the medium bowl. Set aside
  2. Prepare the dressing; pour olive oil, lemon juice, honey, black pepper and salt in the small jar. Close the lid and shake vigorously. Pour into the bowl, incorporate well.

On the weekend, sometimes when it’s not too frantic at home I usually like to put time to prepare special breakfast for my little family. I like to have waffles with fruits meanwhile my daughter likes to have plain or just with powdered sugar. I don’t make waffles from scratch  just heat them from the frozen one.

Sometimes, having granola for breakfast will be more than enough.

What’s your breakfast ?

Churros con Chocolate

It’s a late post. I remember when I made this churros for first time was in Singapore about a year ago. There was “Pasar Malam” across from our flat in Senja. They sold churros for Singapore Dollars 3.50 (you got 6 small pieces).

“Pasar Malam” in Singapore, food hawkers at pasar malam are required to get a licence from local council to ensure health, cleanliness and to control numbers to avoid traffic congestion. A food handler is required to get a medical checkup and Typhim VI injections, The pasar malam site is allocated by the local council (Wikipedia).

“Pasar Malam” can be also translated as Night Market; mostly food(snacks or comfort food) or cut fruits sold there. Sometimes they also sell Durian.

Anyway, I did not feel like spending that much for small amount I’ll get so I decided to browse for Churros recipe and got lucky cause the next day I got the recipe (thanks to this girl who posted shared video online thru social media.

Tada…. Churros is ready. My hubby likes it and I regretted that I only make small batch of churros cause I did not know how it turned out.
Ohh, by the way you can use Nutella for dipping like I did, too lazy to make chocolate sauce from scratch

It’s still summer !!!

Hey ! It’s me again.

It’s still summer and I should take advantages of it before fall comes and it will be too cold for me. We (me, my daughter and husband) live in California now (we moved from Singapore ). I consider myself lucky as we live in the place  with the view overlooking Pacific Ocean. Summer can be hot in California but we are lucky as we live close by the ocean so never experience unpleasant heat so far.

Here are some pictures that I managed to sort among others that I have not got the chance to edit at all !!!

The overlooking Pacific Ocean from our balcony, lucky right !!
